Optifeed is a neurosensory premixture that stimulates feed intake in young animals and mineral block intake in ruminants, poultry and swine.
Optifeed is made up of different active ingredients and plant extracts, which combine to act on 3 levels:
- Affinity: stimulating the animals’ orientation towards the feed and reducing the time between feed distribution and ingestion.
- Appetite stimulation : activating the appetite message in the brain and supporting the digestive function.
- Palatability : giving a pleasure flavour, so that feed is readily consumed.
Optifeed is the key to rapidly teaching young animals to eat their feed.
For which species ?
Chicks and pullets
It is crucial for chicks to rapidly eat, within the first few days of hatching. They must adapt to a new environment and cope with internal physiological changes, so guidance to the feed is essential for a successful start.
Benefits of Optifeed
- Animals rapidly learn to eat their feed
- More homogeneous batches from 7 days and through to the end of the cycle
- Supports growth
Poultry
Using Optifeed in mineral blocks for poultry makes them more attractive and interesting: better use of mineral blocks.
Calves and heifers
Weaning is a critical period for ruminant feeding (separation from the cow, new environment, new feed). The young animal must be motivated to eat early enough and to continue the cycle in the best conditions.
Benefits of Optifeed
- Animals rapidly learn to eat their feed
- Better feed intake
- Supports growth
Adult ruminants
Optifeed Ruminant is also effective in making minerals and mineral blocks more attractive, and in encouraging young and adult animals to consume them. The peripartum period makes feed intake difficult for dairy cows, and Optifeed Ruminant can motivate dry cows to eat.
Piglets
At weaning, piglets must adapt to their new environment and diet. It is a crucial phase, during which they must rapidly begin to eat. The earlier the first feed is eaten, the more smoothly the cycle will continue.
Benefits of Optifeed
- Animals rapidly learn to eat their new feed
- Better feed intake
- Supports growth
Swine
Optifeed Piglet can also be added to mineral blocks for piglets and swine, to motivate consumption: better mineral block intake.
How to use Optifeed ?
The products in the Optifeed range are all species specific: ruminants, poultry, swine.
Optifeed is added directly to the finished feed during preparation. Optifeed is for use over a short period of time, for an immediate effect but with long-term benefits.
